Two Months

Dear Annabella,
It's hard to believe another month has flown by.  Your daddy and I can't get enough of your sweet cheeks and adorable noises.  You are always making us laugh. .and you can't even talk yet!  Oh my goodness, we are smitten.

Things you've been up to this past month:
  • You weighed 9 lbs and were 20.5 inches long at your last doctor's appointment.  You're in the 10th percentile for weight and the 5th percentile for length (on the regular growth curve!!!).
  • You've moved up to size 1 diapers and size 0-3 month clothes.
  • You won't sleep in your crib quite yet.  You like to have you head elevated, so you're sleeping in your bouncy chair or car seat.  The doctor gave us medicine for reflux, so we'll see if that helps.
  • You make the funniest noises. Cackles, laughs, squeals, grunts, and sighs fill our days (and nights!).  I can sleep through your noises, but Daddy prefers to wear ear plugs.  People comment that you're the noisiest baby they've ever met.  We wonder if this means you're going to be a talker.
  • You're still sleeping in our bedroom. The plan was to move you to your own room at 6 weeks, but we might just keep you in our room forever.  Now we think we'll make the big move at the beginning of July. Daddy has been working Trauma shifts this past month, so he's been gone 24 hours at a time.  I didn't think I could handle the separate room thing while he was gone, so we'll see what happens when July arrives.  I still love having you close by.
  • Some days you sleep most of the day and other days you're awake and alert for hours at a time.
  • Right now you have big blue eyes, and they are absolutely beautiful!
  • You were still jaundice this past month, and the doctor wanted us to incorporate some formula into you diet to decrease your bilirubin levels.  We did a formula/breast milk combo for a week. It was tough as your little tummy doesn't like formula (even the gentle stuff).  Thankfully your bili decreased to 8, so we're back on breast milk for the time being.  We hope and pray you can keep your bilirubin down!
  • You had a hip ultrasound earlier this month since you were breech and premature.  We are so thankful that your hips are developing correctly and look great.
  • You're starting to smile when you hear my voice or your daddy's.  Your smiles absolutely melt our hearts.
  • Your MOST favorite place to sleep is still on your daddy's chest . . . .
Your daddy and I love you SO much, sweet Annabella!  Happy 2 months!
Love,
Your very proud mommy
