Brian worked 11A-11P, so I wasn't entirely sure he would make it home for midnight. Fortunately, my sweet husband showed up with white roses at 11:30 PM. We toasted each other with some delicious sparkling grape juice, and welcomed 2011 with open arms.
I know the traditional new year's day meal consists of collard greens, black-eyed peas, hoppin' john, and the like (or at least that's what my family has always eaten on new year's day), but I really don't like greens and peas. So, Brian and I decided our lucky new year's day meal is now officially banana splits. With real whip cream and a cherry on top. The oreos on the sides are just for good measure.
Happy 2011!
