One month of wondefulness

Dear Annabella,
Baby Girl, you are one month old today!  I know it's cliche to say, but the time really has flown by. . .it seems like just yesterday I was in the hospital awaiting your arrival.  You are such a JOY.  Daddy and I are soaking up every second with you, our little miracle.  I'm going to take some pictures of you today to celebrate your one month of life, and I'll post those later. For now, here are some pictures from the past two weeks. . .

Daddy and you, playing the Xbox

Meeting the Daugird Family.  You're working on growing so you can play with those wonderful kids!
The picture below is one of my favorites because it makes me laugh every time I look at it.  Daddy and I tried to prop you up on a pillow (so you would be sitting up for the picture).  We thought we had it, and as I backed away, you slumped over to the side and spit up on the bed.  Classic newborn.  In the picture you're in the process of falling over and it looks like you're saying "catch me, please!".

And just for my sake, a little record keeping. . .
  • You takes 2 to 3 ounces every 3 hours during the day, and every 3 1/2 or 4 hours at night. Usually between 7 PM and 1:30 AM, you like to have a couple of feeds 2 hours apart.
  • You'll stay awake for about 30 minutes after each feed.
  • At your doctor's appointment last week, you weighed 5 pounds and 15 ounces (almost 6 pounds!!!).
  • You're still a little jaundice, and hopefully your bilirubin levels have decreased since last week (we'll find out at the doctor's apt tomorrow).
  • You makes little bird noises while you sleep and grunt/squeak during your feedings
  • Daddy calls you "baby girl".  I'm going to try to get it on video because I just love the way Daddy says it.
  • You only sleeps in your carseat or bouncy seat. We think you're dealing with a little bit of reflux, so you don't like to lay flat on your back.
  • You likes to sleep with your head turned to your right and your left hand out of the swaddle.  Daddy and I will position your head the other direction for a little variation.  You will struggle, make noises, and squirm until you're back in your favorite position.
We love you, Annabella Carol, and can't imagine life without you!  Thank you for making us a family!

I love you to the moon and back,
Mommy
